Conquer your dark circles & let your eyes shine bright! ✨

In Oman, where people are occupied with their daily activities, life is better. Late-night battles, lengthy reading hours, work-life balancing stress, and the list goes on as possible causes of dark circles beneath the eyes. Although we started adapting to working from home, maintaining one’s appearance and beauty fitness can be difficult in our fast-paced world.

It is as definite as day and night that preserving skin and caring for beauty require the same level of attention as a business, career, or employment. I understand your anguish since I am one of these people. It is worth noting some factors that can contribute to the appearance of dark circles under the eyes.

Eyes with dark circles
You might have seen it when the area under your eyes gets darkened and turns into shades of blue, purple, brown, or black, depending on your skin tone. One can appear exhausted or older than they are if they have dark circles beneath their eyes.

For dark under-eye circles, there are several conceivable reasons. However, they often do not indicate a health issue. Usually, dark circles beneath your eyes are nothing to worry about. But to maintain beauty, you might make your under-eye circles seem lighter.

The causes of dark circles under the eyes:
  • Dark circles below the eyes may run in families, according to studies.
  • Eczema and contact dermatitis can enlarge and make your skin more visibly transparent, exposing the blood vessels under your eyes.
  • Scratching and rubbing your eyes can lead to blood vessels breaking and swelling under the eyes.
  • Under the eyes, pale skin could be due to poor sleep hygiene. Your skin may display your blood vessels.
  • Excessive sun exposure causes your body to produce more melanin. The ingredient (pigment) that provides your skin colour is called melanin. That is Hyperpigmentation.
  • Under-eye skin may look lifeless when you don’t drink enough water.
  • Dark circles beneath your eyes increase due to stress, alcohol drinking, and smoking.
Home Remedies

Here is a list of a few remedies that will tell you how to remove under-eye patches :

  • Try to have a minimum of seven to eight hours of sleep each night to avoid developing shadows around your eyes.
  • Use more pillows to elevate your head and stop fluid from accumulating beneath your eyes at night to reduce puffiness.
  • Apply a cold compress to your eyes, using a spoon to help constrict dilated blood vessels. It can lessen the look of dark circles and swollen eyelids.
  • Place slices of cucumber over your eyes. Due to their high water and vitamin C content, they might aid with puffiness.
  • Place cold tea bags beneath your eyelids. It includes antioxidants and caffeine, which help improve circulation.
  • Massages that target the region around the eyes during facials might promote circulation.
  • Blend the tone of your face by using an under-eye concealer and foundation to hide your under-eye pigmentation or dark circle.

I came across a video that provided great advice on how to eliminate under-eye darkness. The suggestions shared in the video appear to yield positive results.

  • Turmeric & potato juice
  • Tea bags
  • Coffee beans& tea leaves
  • Carrots
  • Rose & almond oil-based natural eye masks are recommended.

Using all of them simultaneously is not recommended. You may be wondering how to use them all together. You can follow the instructions provided in this link to utilise these ingredients properly and step-by-step.

If the remedies you’ve tried at home haven’t been effective, it may be necessary to explore other options for eliminating dark circles under your eyes. While there are some medical treatments available, it’s important to note that they are not recommended without consulting with a healthcare professional first.

Clinical Treatments:
  • You can reduce the look of dark circles beneath your eyes by using topical creams like Vitamin C and bleaching agents like hydroquinone.
  • Alpha-hydroxy acids are used in chemical peels to lessen under-eye pigmentation.
  • Laser treatments can help tighten and resurface your skin. Diablo and pulsing dye lasers are examples of non-invasive laser solutions.
  • Injectable fillers like hyaluronic acid gel can plump up your skin and improve its texture, known as tissue fillers.
  • You can undergo eyelid surgery to remove excess skin and fat around your eyes, known as blepharoplasty.
  • PRP injections can strengthen collagen and your skin while repairing the skin around your eyes and accelerating blood vessel formation.
